Can you believe it's September already? Where did the summer go?? I hope you all had fantastic long weekends and enjoyed soaking up the last bit of summer! Here's a look at our weekend shenanigans!
First up: Weekend Workouts!
7km treadmill run! Nothing special, but a good workout nonetheless :)
The return of Bob Harper's "Pure Burn Super Strength" dvd! It had been a while since I'd done this dvd, and I had forgotten what an intense hour of exercise it is!
10 km run!!! This was pretty exciting for me -- the last time I was able to run 10km was a few years ago -- I injured myself during a 10km run in early 2012, and ended up taking a really long break from running... So to run 10km this weekend -- and feel great doing it -- was a huge deal for me! :)
"Yoga for the Warrior" with Bob -- another great workout :)
I don't have much to share in terms of food this weekend... We went out for dinner on Friday night, and I made this for dinner on Saturday:
Shell pasta, chicken sausage, broccoli, and freshly grated parm! I made so much of it that we ended up eating leftovers for dinner on Sunday + Monday as well -- boring, I know, but at least it didn't go to waste! :)
We had quite a bit of rain this weekend, so we were cooped up some of the time. We rented a movie one night:
Yes, we rented "Muppets Most Wanted", and no, it wasn't as good as the last one :) We also watched a few episodes of The O.C (we've been working our way through the series all summer):
So cheesy, but so good :)
When it wasn't raining, we made sure to get out of the house -- we made a few stops at Starbucks:
Skinny Vanilla Lattes for me, Pumpkin Spice Lattes for the Mr :)
We also made sure to get Hali out for lots of walks:
While it may not have been the most exciting weekend, it was just what we needed. Our work schedule for September is looking pretty crazy -- I think we only have one weekend off in the whole month -- so getting in some great workouts & spending time relaxing at home was the prefect way to rest up for the weeks ahead!
